Carpet Lining & Boarding
Carpet lining and insulating is one of the first stages of converting your van…
Get in TouchCarpet lining and insulating is one of the first stages of converting your van. Our process is to remove the factory panels and cover the metalwork of the van in one piece, covering the wheelarches and right up to the top where the roof meets.
We then separately carpet line the roof panel, applying wiring and the surface mounted LED lights, if requested. The roof is generally carpet lined in Silver to continue the cab colour on through.
The empty space behind the factory panels is filled with Dacron insulation, (recycled plastic bottles) and each carpet-lined panel is placed back with removable fixings to allow for future maintenance or wiring.
Four shades of Grey most popular
There are four shades of grey more popularly used in our carpet lining, although Black and Stone are an option. We are also starting to use a foam backed lining in our larger vans if carpet lining isn’t an option.
Generally, it is best to go for a mid-tone when using a large area of carpet lining as the lightest shades show dark marks and the darker shades are prone to picking up fluff.
As the larger vans are becoming more popular, we have started to look at alternatives and have found that foam backed lining where the van naturally undulates and ply boarding creates a great look.
Roof Oak veneer ply with clever lighting really enhances the look of the van creating a wonderful cosy atmosphere.
