Electrics for VW Campervans
With today’s electrical demands it’s important to provide every campervan with an energy efficient system to meet every campervanners needs, whether you’re a weekend camper or a full-time traveller.
We offer two standard packages in our conversions as a starting point:
- 12v electrical system
- 12/240v electrical system
Electrics for Campervans
12v Electrical System
Our more simplified system is the 12v electrical system which offers the following:
- 12v Auxiliary electrics including 110amp/h Marine battery
- Battery to Battery DC Charger
- Battery level indicator
- 2 x 12v cigarette lighter style outlets
- Double USB outlet
12/240v Electrical System
The second package we offer is a 12/240v electrical system which includes electric hook up (EHU):
- 12/240v Electric hookup with 110amp/h marine battery
- Battery to Battery DC Charger
- Bonus PMS3 power management unit
- Electrical hook up point
- 2 x 12v cigarette lighter style outlets
- Double USB outlet
- 240v socket (3-pin)
Solar Panels
There are further options available including Solar Panels, inverters, upgraded battery options for example Lithium or higher AH batteries. Some of the tried and tested products we use are Victron and Renogy. We pride ourselves on trying to fully understand how each individual customer plan to use their vans and would be happy to discuss accordingly.
Solar Kits
Solar kits are great for off-grid camping and are a great addition as a trickle charge feed to your leisure battery. The Solar kit typically includes a MPPT controller, a solar panel which is either semi flexible or rigid depending on location (ie directly to a roof or a pop top).
Wattage Options
There are many different Wattage options available depending on your needs and van size.
Inverters
Inverters are a helpful tool which converts 12v power from your leisure battery into 240v power. They are ideal for short, sharp 240v power requirements for occasional use.
